Senator Warren is barking up the wrong tree. The problem is that student loans, like other loans, grossly inflate the price of the product for which they are lent. Seven years ago, I proposed a plan to reverse that effect for college bills:
As a Republican candidate for President, I would put that plan in effect first. Then my proposal to remove the employment requirement from the provision of the necessities — a weekly stipend of $1500 — will allow recent students to pay back their student loans, even if they do not have a job.
